Thanks for your reply. Frenzel is better, at least for me, than those you mentioned since it explains communications theory from electronics theory. Haykin on the other hand in his 4th edition writes a lot and in his 5th a little and in both he never, except perhaps once, relate communications theory to electronics theory. As for Sklar and Proakis they are digital oriented. Nevertheless, the best book on communications theory is the Lathi book either in his 3rd or 4th editions but even Lathi does not explain communications theory in relation to electronics theory. As far as I know the only book that explains communications theory and relates it to electronics theory other than Frenzel is the Beasley & Miller book. Nevertheless, the Beasley & Miller is not comparable to the Frenzel book for, in my opinion, it lacks the practical perspective that is really valued in such a field. Again, thank you for your reply.
